Multiple Olympic Medalist

This visualization shows the 10 athletes who have won most medals in the history of the Olympic Games. Arranged in chronological order, they are represented as simplified metal sculptural portraits obtained by casting the medals won. The height of the cast indicates the number of total medals, the height of each layer corresponds to gold, silver, and bronze. In the end, each athlete is given a line on the timeline which corresponds to the duration of his/her career.
