This object visually compares the NYC water consumption with total water resource of Baikal Lake to show what percentages of this lake people already used, and help the audience have deeper consciousness of saving water.

Metaphor used:

The shape of Baikal Lake was used as a metaphor of fresh water resource and each grain of blue rice inside the ball was used as a metaphor of one person’s water consumption in NYC.

Intended Meaning:

Let the audience have idea about how much water one citizen uses everyday and also compare with the total fresh water resource on earth, and then have deeper consciousness of saving water.
