According to Age UK, there are nearly 12 million people aged 65+ in the UK and 3.8 million of them live alone. 1/3 aims to show concretely what isolation means: the book represents the total amount of elderly people, 1/3 of it represents the ones living alone and 2/3 of it is full of life stories.
